Troop 313, Noble Basses Crew, 2013

Troop 313 is preparing to return to the Canadian Boundary Waters for a high adventure, canoeing and fishing,  back country experience! Crews will be travelling July of 2016.

Are you ready for the adventure?

Scout requirements:

  1. 14 years by July 22, 2016 to go without parent attending
  2. 13 years by July 22, 2016 but your parent must attend as well
  3. First Class by July 22, 2016
  4. Swimming and Canoeing merit badges

Adult requirements:

  1. Be registered as a BSA leader
  2. Complete full Adult Leader Training conducted by New Horizon District  (ALT)
  3. Complete Boy Scout Leader Fast-Start training
  4. Complete Youth Protection Training
  5. Complete Safe Swim Defense training
  6. Complete Online training courses
    1. Boy Scout Leader Fast-Start training
    2. Youth Protection Training
    3. Safe Swim Defense training
    4. Safety Afloat training
    5. Weather Hazards training
  7. Complete pressurized fuel training
  8. Complete a full CPR/AED training course
  9. Complete a Wilderness First Aid course
  10. Pass the BSA Swimmer test within 2 years of the Canada trip
  11. Submit Medical Forms – parts A,B, and C

Online courses are available at  https://myscouting.org
-they take about 15-30 minutes each to complete
-after completing please send me a copy of the completion certificate
-these trainings are good for 2 years – if you have yours send me your certificate

pressurized fuel training
– conducted within our Troop by trainer Mr. Riddle – will keep you posted
– after completing please send me a copy of the TOASTED Chit card you will receive

CPR/AED training course
-either through American Red Cross, American Heart Association or employer provided courses
-after completing please send me a copy of your certification card

Wilderness First Aid course
– our Troop will make arrangements for this through Council sometime during the coming year

BSA Swimmer test within 2 years of the Canada trip
-adults who attended summer camp will have done that
-anyone who needs to do it – we can make arrangements at The Lodge
