First Year Program

Troop 313 works hard to support our new Scouts and to provide them with every opportunity to earn their First Class Rank in their first year as a Boy Scout. Statistics establish that Scouts who earn their First Class Rank within one year of joining Boy Scouts are more likely to remain engaged and to earn the rank of Eagle.

In charge of our First Class/First Year program is a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster who is advised by our New Scout Coordinator. They work through our Troop Guides and Patrol Leaders, each of whom is responsible to ensure that the EDGE method of teaching is employed to help New Scouts learn and achieve the requirements needed to advance in rank.
