Troop 313 - Adult Leadership Training
Troop 313 encourages all of our registered adult leaders to be trained.

There are training opportunities for a registered adult who wants to become a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster. There are training opportunities for a registered adult who wants to become a Troop Committee Member. See the table below for details.

Upon completion of Basic Training, our leaders are able to provide and support the BSA program with greater continuity.

Additional training opportunties are also available. Wood Badge and several specialized training opportunities are listed below.

Youth Protection Training

Youth Protection Online
Adult volunteer leaders, parents, and all interested in the health and safety of young people are welcome and encouraged to complete this online training.  Online Youth Protection training is offered through the BSA National website.

Fast Start Online
This online Fast Start training is a quick orientation to help you get ready for your first Boy Scout meeting. The training is divided into five sections:

  • The Troop Meeting
  • The Troop Committee
  • The Outdoor Program
  • Basic Concepts of Scouting
  • The Scout Uniform

Outdoor Skills Training
Boy Scout Leader Training is divided into Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Training and Troop Committee Training.  The Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Training lasts about 9 hours and is provided in many formats to meet your needs. Introduction to Outdoor Skills is also required for SM/ASM and is conducted over a weekend.  Troop Committee Training is designed for troop committee members and last about 5 hours.

Wood Badge Training
Wood Badge is advanced training for adult leaders in Scouting.  It is designed to enhance contemporary leadership skill and develop more effective Scouters.  The Wood Badge program will give participants a greater understanding of Scouting aims and methods, while developing true Scout Spirit.  It is anticipated that all people who complete Wood Badge training will continue to work actively in the Scouting program to further the aims and methods of Scouting.
